Sister Maternity Portraits in Brecknock Park | Dover Delaware
Have you heard of sister maternity portraits? I had not, in fact this was a first for me!
These two lovely sisters made this so fun.
I shot Zhyair’s pregnancy announcement. And I was thrilled when she reached out and wanted to work with me again for her maternity session.
How sweet is it that their due dates were only 4 days apart?! It was the perfect opportunity and we couldn’t pass on sister maternity portraits.
It was truly a good time and we laughed the entire time. Plus, as you can see below, they looked stunning in their matching orange maternity dresses!
When we were planning out this portrait session they envisioned a Mother Nature type of vibe. We really loved the feel of open fields and greenery everywhere. (Especially in contrast to their vibrant dresses.) And more than the setting and wardrobe, the sentiment of the day was special.
Zhyair shared with me that they had always talked about how cool it would be to be pregnant at the same time. But they never thought they’d get to experience it. And they did.
They experienced it together and it was beautiful!
But let’s talk about this beautiful location too! Dover Delaware is a beautiful little town with no shortage of photoshoot locations to pick from. This is one of my favorite outdoor locations.
Brecknock Park is a great place for families and it’s dog friendly, on top of being a great spot for portraits. Besides the open fields in the park, there are also nature trails with mile markers for those that want to be away from possible distractions or onlookers. And another great thing about this location is that it’s not just limited to the warmer weather! It’s a great location year round. (If you aren’t scared of the cold.)
Maternity sessions are such a joyous time and one of my favorite types of portraits! I love many aspects of my job, but this is the best part of it all. Getting to form connections with so many people and be there for important moments. Nothing beats that.
If you’re expecting a new addition to the family, let’s plan a photoshoot.
