Golden Birthday Portraits for Nicole’s Special 30th

Join me for Nicole’s 30th Birthday portraits! And not just any birthday portraits but her golden birthday portraits! I traveled up to Michigan for Nicole‘s session. And she wanted to celebrate her birthday in my favorite way – by treating herself to portraits!

She brought a few ideas to the table, which I love!

She knew she wanted it golden to celebrate that she was turning 30 on the 30th. And she also wanted it to be retro with an explosion of color to celebrate who she is as a person.

Her home is decorated with eclectic decor and full of bright colors, which made this photo session a true reflection of her personality. We had a blast even though we cleaned up confetti forever after. But it was well worth it. I truly love getting to be creative with my clients and showcasing their best qualities through my passion.

Nicole is a prime example of being authentically yourself everyday. She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes and it’s always an honor to capture it.

It was so fun to spend her golden birthday with her and celebrate with glitter, disco and (of course) some glammed up portraits!

Here are a few tips for your own (golden or otherwise) birthday portraits.

First of all, pick a fun theme!

Whether you go with disco like Nicole or Mamma Mia like I did, commit to your theme and have a blast with it

And don’t be afraid to bring props.

In fact, bring on all the props and fun little details. Not only do they add a creative touch but they help cement in your theme even further.

Last but not least, make sure to invest in your photoshoot.

It’s your birthday after all!
